Recent experimental results on charmed baryons
This paper summarizes recent experimental results on charmed baryons. Two
main topics are covered: first, the spectroscopy of charmed baryon states;

The Economic impact of Florida's recreational boating industry in 1985
The recreational boating industry is an important component of Florida's economy. Previous Florida Sea Grant College supported research has documented this economic importance to the state's economy in 1980 (see Milon and Riddle, 1983, and Milon et al. 1983). Since that initial research, the manufacturing, retailing, and service sectors comprising
the industry have continued to grow and prosper as the state's resident and tourist populations increased. This report is an update on the economic significance of the recreational boating industry in Florida since 1980 based on economic indicators of change within the industry. (21pp.
Implementation of Particle Flow Algorithm and Muon Identification
We present the implementation of the Particle Flow Algorithm and the result
of the muon identification developed at the University of Iowa. We use Monte
Carlo samples generated for the benchmark LOI process with the Silicon Detector
design at the International Linear Collider. With the muon identification, an

Second order splitting of a class of fourth order PDEs with point constraints
We formulate a well-posedness and approximation theory for a class of generalised saddle point problems with a specific form of constraints. In this way we develop an approach to a class of fourth order elliptic partial differential equations with point constraints using the idea of splitting into coupled second order equations. An approach is formulated using a penalty method to impose the constraints. Our main motivation is to treat certain fourth order equations involving the biharmonic operator and point Dirichlet constraints for example arising in the modelling of biomembranes on curved and flat surfaces but the approach may be applied more generally. The theory for well-posedness and approximation is presented in an abstract setting. Several examples are described together with some numerical experiments

With more than 5.3 million inhabitants Victoria is the second most populous state in Australia. Once a manufacturing economy, Victoria is now transforming itself into a service and innovation-based economy. Currently, the largest sectors are education services and tourism. In terms of social structure, Victoria is characterised by a large migrant population, 24% of population were born overseas and 44% were either born overseas or have a parent who was born overseas. About 70% of the population resides in Melbourne. Victoria faces a number of challenges, ranging from an ageing population and skills shortages to drought and climate change and increased risk of natural disasters. Rapid population growth, 2% annually, has implications for service delivery and uneven development as well as regional disparities. There are barriers to connectivity in terms of transport and infrastructure, and a high degree of inter-institutional competition in tertiary education sector. The business structure in Victoria includes some highly innovative activities such as in biotechnology, but other sectors, especially those with high number of small and medium-sized enterprises, are lagging behind. Most of the larger manufacturing enterprises are externally controlled and there is uncertainty over the long term investments they will make in the state, as well as the place of Victoria in the global production networks
Semi-inclusive hadronic B decays as null tests of the Standard Model
We propose a new set of observables that can be used as experimental null
tests of the Standard Model in charged and neutral B decays. The CP asymmetries
in hadronic decays of charged B mesons into inclusive final states containing
at least one of the following mesons: K_{S,L}, eta', c\bar c bound states or
neutral K^* or D mesons, for all of which a U-spin rotation is equivalent to a
CP conjugation, are CKM suppressed and furthermore vanish in the exact U-spin
limit. We show how this reduces the theoretical error by using Soft Collinear
Effective Theory to calculate the CP asymmetries for K_{S,L} X_{s+d}, K^*
X_{s+d} and eta' X_{s+d} final states in the endpoint region. For these CP
asymmetries only the flavor and not the charge of the decaying B meson needs to
be tagged up to corrections of NLO in 1/m_b, making the measurements more
accessible experimentally.Comment: 8 pages, significantly expanded after the observation that both

Trimers, molecules and polarons in imbalanced atomic Fermi gases
We consider the ground state of a single "spin-down" impurity atom
interacting attractively with a "spin-up" atomic Fermi gas. By constructing
variational wave functions for polarons, molecules and trimers, we perform a
detailed study of the transitions between each of these dressed bound states as
a function of mass ratio and interaction strength.
We find that the presence of a Fermi sea enhances the stability of the -wave
trimer, which can be viewed as a Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO)
molecule that has bound an additional majority atom. For sufficiently large
, we find that the transitions lie outside the region of phase separation in
imbalanced Fermi gases and should thus be observable in experiment, unlike the
well-studied equal-mass case.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figure
